Guess I need to pull my Obama sign in from the front yard-have irritated the neighbors long enough. Though it seems the "r's" are still whining and complaining. Hey dudes - get over it. You insulted enough Americans to lose so learn something.
3 Observations --
1) OMG - 30 states have started petitions to peacefully secede from the US. Hello, this happens "EVERY" election - media report all the facts if you can-liberal press my sweet lily-white a--
2) There was no mandate for Obama. Really. Obama won by 2.9% in 2012 which is "HIGHER", yes higher, than that last 4 presidents - hmmm, surprise.
3) If we voted for the POTUS because of all the "FREE" stuff supposedly that was promised, then where's mine? Free stuff was offered by the other side, but only to the 1%-not enough of them apparently. Money doesn't always talk thank goodness.
Final thought. Nothing is free and we all pay taxes. Just some of us are in a little better position to "avoid" paying taxes that the 47% pay. I am not saying that is wrong, I am just saying don't stand on a high moral horse and judge the rest of us. No one escapes this life without paying.
No one gets a pass and we all need to forgive and work together for a better world.
Joy to All and Peace on Earth-maybe someday we will learn.

OCTOBER RAMBLINGS
Ok -what observations can we exploit for humor today? Been awhile I know, so my funny bone may be rusty. Though rusty is a color I admire and certainly appropriate for this beautiful time of year.
1) My absolute favorite quote of the month "Sweat is fat cells crying". Certainly makes my stinky drippings at the "spa" (health club) become little badges of valor celebrating my dedication to the sweatier arts. Saw that quote in the cube of an employee I was interviewing for an audit. They no doubt thought I was writing down one of their "pearls" and I was just afraid I would forget the sign when I got done. Hey we both got what we wanted.
2) gov'nr rommelly - when he first started his campaign even the "r's" didn't want him - remember "anyone but Mitt?" Well who wants a mitten for prez anyway-warm but mindless. Not sure how to compare a mitten to flip flops but that seems to be the MO of this dude who basically agrees with whatever group he happens to be speaking with. How does that work in the real world when media, camera phones, tweeters record every waking moment of everyone's life? (Most of it boring I might add) That will work well in foreign policy-scarey.
3) Which leads to another thought. Why is it everyone's business to know every detail of every issue? I for one do not want to know what the gov't knows about foreign terriorism. It's hard enough to sleep at night as it is. Not telling everything on a "covert" operation may be in the best interests of those involved. Case in point - a California legislator leaked the names of those in Libia who are working with us; at great personal risk to themselves and their families. Yep, we can certainly be trusted with sensitive information. We don't know the whole story and perhaps we shouldn't.
4) Back to the "spa" for the next observation. When you go six to seven times a week you get to know the regulars and the fly by nighters. The latter tend to wear designer duds, make a lot of noise and hog machines which they don't wipe off don't you know. The best part of being a regular however, is you know they won't last. Before their tees & shorties get grungy, they are gone again. Doing their yearly bit for health until they find the next flavor of the month that promises results with minimal effort.
5) Which leads to another interesting fact. Due to the changing shape I have been experiencing due to my regular workouts, I am discovering clothing that had been cast aside now usable. Dug out a pair of knee high boots that rejected any effort on my part to zip up my shapely calves. Since I added run/walk to my routine they now zip all the way up with minimal effort, they actually zip up over, dare I say I have them, skinny jeans! Now clearly women of a certain age should not be wearing clothes that are clearly made for the younger crowd, but damn they look goooooddd...
6) Found out something interesting about the "little prince" - Joseph to the rest of the world. There is definitely a difference between little girls and little boys and it shows up early folks. Active little bugger even at 0 yrs and a couple of months and counting. Wigggles constanly no matter what, sleeps less than soundly and is easily bored. This from a kid who doesn't even crawl yet-but by golly he wants to walk! But the real telling thing is when he's fussing you can do something unexpected that startles or scares him momentarily and then he bursts into the belly shaking giggles. And you can do it over and over and over again and he loves it! I can see the day when Nana takes him to a scary movie-me with my hands over my eyes and him chortling with glee. Well at least I think I have found a family member who will enjoy roller coasters!

SAGA OF SILLINESS
I thought I'd share a couple of mundane and random thoughts today. Life can be quite humorous if you choose to perceive things just a little differently.
I coined an unexpected saying the other day. As I was looking over the contents of the frig to determine a shopping list I said, innocently I assure you, "Refrigerators are apparently where left-overs go to die". Well think about it. Don't we feel all virtuous when we lovingly place our offerings in brightly color coordinated covered little bowls who snap, burp and warble. Then 4-5 days later we toss them. I think they appreciate the reprieve but maybe I'm just kidding myself.
I accidently bought a jar of these baby pickles. Just about big enough for one crunch or two very small ones, I have renamed them picklets. Much more descriptive and gentler term for these big pickle wannabes.
And what about those low-fat mozarella cheese sticks. My personal routine is to bite the head off and then slowly pull the rest of the stick into long stringy pieces until it looks like the rosterferian dude featured on the package with all his crazy hair sticking out in different directions. Then I painstakingly chew each little "tendril". Makes it last longer.
As I'm doing laundry this am I always start with the "delicates". What is it about straps (ladies you know what I mean) that cause them to go beserk attacking any other items that dare to share their temporary washroom spa? Yes, I know they have little cages to put these things in, but really how difficult should laundry be? So then I have to spend time untangling, unhooking, untwisting these items from others as they strive to strangle any interloper without straps. Is it a hierarchy thing on some unmentionable status list? Is it a sexual issue and I am merely witnessing the "proverbial" relaxed moment after the passion? Or do certain items in my intimate wardrobe have jealousy issues? At any rate, it is always an adventure to check the load after the rinse cycle.

RAMBLINGS
Interesting that the older you get the more you begin to realize everything is not black and white and grey is the norm. There are many sides to every issue and nothing is all or nothing. When we are young, it seems so simple and the most obvious is always the truth. As one becomes more seasoned so to speak, there is a realization that there are many interpretations based upon what has been experienced. Reactions to those unexplainable moments or disturbing facts should be based, hopefully, on what one has learned of human nature and our own growing intelligence.
Learning without context is deceiving; learning coupled with experience is the beginning of wisdom. Strength is measured on more than just the physical level. Compassion and understanding identify the truly evolved. It seems easier to cling to our beliefs based upon what we perceive rather than perhaps exploring what may be an entirely different interpretation. In defense of that, we also incorporate our personal fears and pain into our perception which makes each person's perspective unique. We have all made mistakes quickly jumping to our normal truth rather than really researching or truly understanding the issues or the person. That adversely affects many of our personal decisions which perhaps shuts our minds off to what may be a glorious and wondrous experience. Could we get hurt? Could we be wrong? Of course, but not to try to understand seems a worse fate.
It is also very scary indeed to consider the types of misinformation being spewed by political pundits and opinion makers. Citizens must do their own research and make up their own minds on what is the truth. The constant example of Obama's spending more than any other President, is completely erroneous when one does even a small amount of research. In fact he is percentage points "below" any of the previous six presidents. To think that we don't need some type of affordable health care and hanging our hats on the constant vitriol of all having to pay as unconstitutional is short-sighted at best. Check out your local emergency room to see the pathos of those without insurance or look among your friends or others you associate with and you will find at least one who is foregoing treamtment they cannot afford or for which they have been denied coverage.
The constant attack on medicare, social security, public workers, teachers and the education sysem as well. Ask yourself who has benefitted from these cuts? When the economy imploded, who was hurt and who was saved? Hint: it wasn't the people of moderate means, who by the way, account for 75% of the GNP. If no one buys, no one profits. Are there those taking advantage of the system-of course. But surprise it is not just the people on some type of government assistance. What do you call tax breaks for multi-billion dollar corporations? Or well-documented handouts to businesses who are not held accountable for job creation, etc. Do they use public roads? Public safety services? Publically educated employees? The take on the business side dwarfs the $200 the "lazy" guy next store is taking from the system each week. How well does a family do on $5 or $10 an hour?
But again wisdom demands that we also see the problems. Often government is wasteful and impractical. Try to run a business on a constantly changing picture of politics, lobbyists, influence, perceptions. Government cannot run entirely like a business as it does not make a profit. It is charged with providing services to the many and is paid for by those many who contribute to the whole to take care of those things we cannot as individuals. Is some or much of it out of control? Of course. Wisdom dicates we fix what is wrong, not condemn the entire system. Quit drinking the kool-aid and be a part of the solution. Overcoming our personal perceptions and fears will not be easy, but it is essential.

ALL MAY NOT BE SUNNY
Ok -what's up with all these animal suicides? I am convinced that birds at least get depressed. Could be the constant temperature changes, a little snow late in the season, or less impressive amounts and quality of seed in the feeder as the winter providers cut back on free "bird food".
At first I thought it was just my daughter's bad luck who drives a car that attracts robins (kind of a worm color)and two went to an untimely death in her grill. Then I heard from another who had been the unwitting perp in another instance of bird demise.
Today as I am merrily making my way to the office enjoying the early sunshine and scenic country views-I see, an obviously depressed bird, diving directly into my grill or under my wheels. There was no corresponding thump or poof of feathers so don't know if my car actually completed the task, but it does make you wonder. Did I actually entice and wield death's scythe? Usually they just take aim, poop and move on. But this was a deliberate attack or as I surmised earlier a final act of a desperate soul. You decide.

FALTER BUT NO FALLS
Well one thing we know-Joseph is a fighter! After a bout with a high heart rate, Matt says from the "man-handling" he has conquered that. Then he had trouble keeping food down, but he got the hang of that. Actually he took his first nourishment drinking from a tiny cup! A new-born drinking from a cup-that was a first for the nurse. Then the big issue-his aspirating meconium (literally baby waste) when he drew his first breath. That one was scarier and required more treatment.
He was placed in "nursery jail" as my daughter dubbed it to monitor his progress and insert an IV giving him anti-biotics. Though well-formed and complete at 41 weeks and 8 lb 6 oz, it broke your heart to see the little guy literally tied to his IV and fighting to get his oxygen up and keep it there. But he beat it back and is undergoing his final "clip" before coming home with Mom and Dad today - a whole four days old. Now he has to meet the other kids (Zoe and Phoenix) and assert his presence in the house. No problem.
We also report, through his Dad,that he seems to have an affinity for show tunes. Who knew? But then how did he hear said show tunes? Apparently his Dad called upon his eclectic repotoire to entertain and soothe his son. Mom has her own methods of soothing relying on her olympic-worthy cuddling and of course, she is the keeper of the Mommy milk. Don't care how tough you are that's why a guy needs his Mom!

NEW KID IN TOWN
Just some quick thoughts about the birth of my grandson Joseph Paul last night. Ok all babies are cute and he is mine, but he really is!! Perfect skin -no wrinkly pruney look and bellowing like a banshee on the hunt.
His Mother, my daughter, was strong, resiliant. Cussing a bit and frustrated at times, but no tears and a worker to the end with a beautiful result. Sweat pouring down, no rest for 24 hours and she gave her all and then some. Whatever was asked, she gave. Whatever was needed, she had. Women are so strong when it comes to childbirth and there is a reason they call it labor! Then after all that work and while they continued working on her, she kept looking anxiously over at the baby "warming bed" where her little guy was bawling his head off. When they finally swaddled and handed him to her, she immediately went into Mama mode rocking and soothing him until he quieted down.
Matt was a rock, barely leaving her side, soothing, comforting, cheerleading and just murmuring to her when she seemed to falter a bit. Lovingly rolling ice over her forehead in between contractions, feeding her an ice chip when she had a little break. Her hand was wrapped up in his shirt through some of the rougher contractions when she needed that one anchor that kept her tied to her reality -just hanging on to her rock.
As soon as they took Joe back from Kristen and Matt to take him to the nursery he started fussing again. He turned his head whenever he heard Mom or Dad talking. Then the first thing Kristen wanted was a large glass of water - 3 of them! The circle continues. More updates in the days ahead.

RANDOM RAMBLINGS
Ever notice how the "it's all about me attitude" has a little impact on everyone else's daily lives? To illustrate, some random observations.
1)"Weekenders or newbies" at the gym tend to think "it's my gym and I'm going to leave my various little items wherever I happen to spend 30 seconds or so." This leads to that head-scatching moment when unattended bottles of water, crumply towels and alcohol tissues are left much like spoor that indicates that perhaps someone is near, coming back, 40 feet away doing something else or left for the day. To some, less dedicated, they might walk away thinking well the phantom was here first hogging six machines. I tend to push extraneous items aside and do my thing. No "saving seats" in the gym bozo.
2) Next are the parking lot ninjas. They hover just out of sight, or circle endlessly waiting for that ungaurded moment when someone pulls out of a choice parking spot-ZAP, KAPOW! They leap into the empty spot slipping their oversized SUV into the undersized spot swinging their numchuk side mirrors into unsuspecting cars on either side. Then there's the teasers who climb into their car and then sit there, and sit there and sit there, teasing, luring the circling ninjas. Does not matter if you are late for your appointment or you're going to walk all afternoon anyway-must have that primo spot! Honor is at stake-you've committed and must follow through. Which makes it doubly hilarious when the circler has wasted 10 minutes waiting and some dude happens upon the spot just ahead of the circling back ninja. Can parking lot gun carnage be far behind?
3) Drive-through windows at the bank. Why do they have more than one if only one person is working the window? There apparently is no hierarchy in place as to who hit the "tube" first. Shouldn't there be a little light that comes on or at least a set order in the little gerbil vacuum tube (I'm convinced the gerbils are just running on wheels making the tube work) which indicates which was first? Little things that just make our day. And tell me why people, unfortunately women mostly, can't seem to figure out the dimensions correctly and end up having to open their door to reach the tube or hang precariously out the window while keeping a foot on the brake! Put it in park! Back up and try again - too funny.
4) Grocery line roulette. Many are using the self-serve check-outs because they think it's faster. Key word "think". I defy anyone to tell me that generally they do not have something blow up and demand they get a "live" person to fix the screw-up they just created through insufficient scanning skills. How do you scan a bag of fresh green beans anyway. But then if you opt for the live person lines, the question is which is moving faster? Ok - small cart, bagger-go there. Crap the bagger left and the cashier just called for a price check for hemorrohid cream. Slide to the left and a little old lady defies science and whips her fully loaded cart neatly over your foot and into the line you are lusting after. Go early and go often I guess is the solution to this one.
5) Midnight rose skulkers. Not really, I just like the phrase. I'm talking about the Michiganders (who should really know better) who buy up all the flowering plants and veggies to plant as soon as the sun stays out for more than 2 hours and the temp creeps above 50 for a couple of minutes. Those experienced ones who wisely wait until the end of May find nada on the garden shelves. Ah but the revenge is picturing the "early birds" frantically covering up their precious plants every night for a month as we still rock the 20's and 30's in the morning until Memorial Day.
Oh well. If you focus on yourself you don't really get too hung up about the really negative big stuff that goes on in the world. Can't say that's a bad thing.

POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY?
Are there still questions out there about whether the power-hungry "r's" are not taking advantage of superior numbers to pass their own self-serving agenda?
Quoting from an article in the Daily MIRS (they report on legislative activity supposedly objectively-but not really) they stated:
"House Republicans today took about an hour to ram through a roughly $34 billion spending plan for Fiscal Year 2013 by swiftly disposing of 50 amendments without a single roll call vote and truncating debate by cutting off, failing to recognize, or just ignoring requests of speakers".
"The limited attention to hollaring Democratic members prevented vulnerable Republican incumbents from having to vote on politically toxic Democratic amendments." ... "The only seven amendments approved were from Republicans".
"House Democrats proposed more than 30 amendments and asked for a record roll call vote on at least six, with Speaker Pro Tem John Walsh (R-Livonia) saying the voice vote did not support the demand for any of those." "When it became clear after several requests for a record roll call vote that Democrats were no longer being allowed to speak on amendments for which they were going to request a vote, they asked for a point of order. Minority floor leader Kate Segal (D-Battle Creek) asked Walsh how they were supposed to speak to amendments if they were not being recognized".
"Walsh thanked her for her statement and said it was not a point of order. She said she was asking a question, and he moved to other amendments".
Watch out people this is the "new demoocracy" in action. All of the above was reported by a notably conservative publication so even they could not put a more positive spin on it. The game is on.

PEOPLE ARE MESSY
Scandal of the week - secret service engages in sexual romps while on guard duty. Bet that's never happened before. Have to love that women are not considered strong enough or tough enough for some of these jobs, but when is the last time you heard of a bunch of professional women caught in a sex mess? Ha. The other odd thing is politicians are equating this personal failing with whatever party's representatives gets caught with their proverbial pants down (pun intended). Last I knew these personal failings are prevalent on both sides of the aisle or Board Room or Religious Organization.
Why does it become a judgment call on everyone else even remotely affected? Govt out of control I think is the label. Like people have not been cheating on expense accounts or using perks in a less than ethical manner.
It is wrong no matter who is doing it. But to try to take the high road that it's a "d" or "r" issue is naive at best. But the media keeps pounding the drum and making us think it is relevant or means more than a bunch of idiots who can't keep their personal issues out of the workplace.

LIFE IS MESSY
As we get closer to the countdown for JP's arrival one might be inclined to ponder the whole issue of child bearing. It's uncomfortable, you have to follow dietary and medical protocol, your clothes fit funny, you deal with issues of not feeling well or feeling things you never felt before - some good, some bad, some surprising. It takes nine long months where you have to maintain a certain level of calmness to the outside world, worry about things that never occurred to you before, take a crash course in being a mom (which none of us are ever prepared for), realizing that it is no longer me but we.
Then the birth itself is somewhat noisy, chaotic, painful, exciting, scary and yes, messy. Usually the calmest one in the room is the Mother-as we have no choice. The child is making their arrival ready or not. Seems like there should be a better system after 3,000 odd years of bearing children (sorry folks evolution did happen).
But it works. In nine (actually short) months an entire human being is formed with everything, for the most part, they will ever need to survive in this world. Bones and brain; organs and senses; personality and predispositions. Remarkable that inside a woman grows this wondrous being that starts as a microscopic egg and a sperm and emerges as a fully formed child. Seems like the process should take years and in a stronger container. But women are strong and the system is well-designed so it works. Messy but miraculous.

BOTTOM IS TOP WHEN YOU'RE LOOKING UP
In response to our newspaper question this week about whether we thought the economy had bottomed out I said.
"I guess belief in the economy bottoming out depends on whether you have a job or your house has not been foreclosed upon. However my own personal indicators show things on an upswing. Folks in my profession were being laid off and calls for consultative services were down. Recently requests have picked up tremendously. Second, in a second advertisement of a position I was not able to fill last year, a new group of candidates has emerged who actually meet the requirements instead of desperately, and obviously, applying to anything"."
I believe that the question was meant to have contributors describe a "feeling" they have. I was surprised that the majority basically quoted what they have read about or observed-not how they "felt". One pointed to the "r's" war on the have-nots as the reason things have picked up calling it a good thing. The point to me is there is no one factor that determines recovery or further economic nightmare; there is no one factor that describes a magic bullet of success; there is not always an explanation for success or failure or even life or death.
My argument is that it really does come down to how we are "feeling" about all of these. When we get knocked down do we get back up? Do we blame the world and throw a pity party that lasts the rest of our lives? Do we take the negative influences and let them rule our future hope and optimism. Oh I admit it's hard sometimes when you're hurting to remember it does get better. I have compared that feeling in previous articles to being in a dark room where you see a little sliver of light under the door and when you get the courage, you pull that door slowly open until you can bathe in that light.
As long as people continue to feel empowered and follow their instincts for success, hold those in charge accountable, protect the helpless and provide hope for the hopeless, recovery, joy, success and the good life are all possible.

OF BUNNYS & MIRACLES

Watching a news story on Lourdes where 1,000's go every year in hope of a cure, relief, answers or maybe just a reason to believe in something larger than themselves. Fitting on this day in celebration of resurrection and rebirth. A couple of thoughts. Are these truly miracles attributed to the Virgin Mary and the hope it represents? Or another demonstration of the ability of the mind to cure the body? If you believe you will see change, you will make it happen. Maybe it's a little of both.
The arrogant act as if they have all the answers (preachers, politicians, talking heads, CEOs)and have no problem passing on their opinions as fact. The humble are looking for answers from a higher power. Or some, the brave and the confident perhaps, may realize that the answers lie within ourselves. I ascribe to the thought that we create our own heaven or hell right here and right now. We have the power to heal ourselves and others. We can look for the sun or flee to the darkness. It lies within our power. Scary to realize you may be the ultimate answer, but in between those cliff-hanger moments is the knowledge that you matter and your choices make a difference.
As for the bunnys, they seem particularly active this morning. No doubt they are bearing and placing their babies in reckless and exposed spots where only luck assure their survival. Mind or miracle?

ONLY IN AMERICA
Does anyone else find it odd that the group deciding on whether employers must provide contraception coverage (universal health care) is composed entirely of men? This is a female issue. I'm sure it is the same group that unanimously agreed to the viagra/cialis lobby. I have no problem with that, but if you guys are all ready, able and willing, the least you could do is provide women with the means to counteract the results of those randy actions.
The President has already compromised on the religious issue and put the burden on insurance companies. I remember a time when womens' contraception was not covered, however they would insure any "issue thereof". WTF? Do you see families of 8 or 10 or 15 children (outside of the media sucking groups like the Duggars). No and that includes the catholics. Prevent conception then the whole abortion issue goes away-hello! The emporer has no clothes again and I guess that's what the ultra-conservative (translation-afraid of everything) white male population is in favor of. No responsibility for indiscriminate sex on their part(see viagra note), but the ladies are not allowed any means to protect themselve. Ok folks are we ready to go back to "frolicking" only for procreation? Hmmm didn't think so.

ONLY IN MICHIGAN
You know you're from Michigan if:
1) You wear tennis shoes in a foot of snow
2) You drive a white car
3) You use your hands as a map (don't forget the UP'rs!)
4) A 33 degree day is a heat wave.

OF GROUNDHOGS & POLITICIANS
Why can't we limit our annual exposure to the ludicrous clowns much like we enjoy the spectacle of Punxsutawney Phil's pompous prognosticators preoccupation with Spring. Why don't we limit politicians to one day, or even one week, to their equally ridiculous antics, lies and slander? One week where they can say or do anything they want and then we are done with it for the year. Let's start a movement as it sure beats the traveling "nasty" show that has been the political scene for the past several months with more to come. Expensive, nauseating and unnecessary.
Though I dread the system we use at work for interviewing prospective employees due to its interminable, heart-wrenching and sometimes, boring, interpretations by the interviewee who missed the point about 5 minutes ago; it does have its strengths in determining a "fit" with the competencies for the position. Wouldn't debates be much more interesting and MEANINGFUL if the political wannabes were actually asked questions that forced them to give examples of how they personally resolved real-life situations that are pertinent to the high office for which (in their own mind) they believe they are so qualified for? Are they able to think under stress, during a crisis? Do they know how to motivate and bring consensus? Do they know how to learn and change their minds when they have all the facts? Are they strong enough to do "the right thing" when the selfish are screaming their own agendas? Are they open to new and innovative ideas or slaves to their "handlers".
In my humble opinion, after many decades of life, my experience as a manager and based on the many interviews I have conducted, adults do not stray too far from their own "normal" under any circumstances. They revert to the character and coping mechanisms they have learned and found successful based on their life experiences, education, employment. To expect them to react differently takes massive internal mental changes. Basically, people do not change all that much after they are adults. Surface maybe, but not core beliefs, how they address right and wrong, their feelings towards others, etc.
Forget the sound bites and attacks on others-which really makes the mud-slinger look worse if you ask me. Look at their past because it definitely predicts their future.

JANUARY THAW OR FREEZE?
Interesting how the spin doctor extraordinaire spun 2011. Increase in jobs-duhh the auto industry picked up (partly based on bailouts)opposed by most "r"'s. Paid down some of the unfunded liability-- ahh on the backs of public workers. Apparently promises, contracts mean nothing. Goal posts can be changed at will. Tax surplus gained upon the backs of seniors, the poor and public workers again, including public safety.
Support for an educated workforce being the answer for Michigan while taking away funding from both K-12 and Universities. But that's ok the formula is, if you take away money and incentives for good teachers and public workers to take jobs in the public sector, you will get a good system and the tax payer will receive better service from those who just "called it in" or flunked or cheated their way to their degrees. Explain the logic of that. As far as I know you get what you pay for.
Is there anyone we haven't made happy yet? It's ok though that 1.2 Billion tax cut for business will result in jobs. Would it have been too much to hold business to that scenario before raising taxes on everyone else? Who's the tax and spend group? I keep getting it confused.
Christmas is over but apparently Snyder-ly Whiplash is alive and well and assuming everybody is happy. Beware folks, the same thing could happen on the national scene if we don't take care. Want another "business person" running the US of A? Just saying.

HELLO 2012 - SCENES TO COME
Election year. Whoop te do! Now that they've made corporations the same status as people wonder who gets their election bought (hint-all of them)? Let's start a movement. Everyone TIVO through political commercials or just shut off the volume. They are really quite humorous if you shut off the sound.
Trying to find someone who understands and is in sync with the "people" could be a fruitless task. Here's a thought - look at their economic status and find out how they earned their money. That will tell you a lot about the candidates.I have no problem with a highly educated individual who actually knows something about finances, the world, etc.,and was not born privileged, but I have a real problem with "set-ups" who are only in the national spotlight because of who they know, who their daddy is or who's paying the bills.
Another topic: Of course been exercising every day while on vaca and there is a whole different crowd when you go later. Went as late as 8:30 today (Monday) and the place was filled with guys! Don't know if that is indicative of the employment status of the male population in this town or what. I will try not to speculate. However the masculine grunts and banging of weights as they loaded on too much was actually better than the "chatty cathies" who normally populate my early mornings. Also I believe I affected behavior (think toilet seat up in an all-male household) by very deliberately wiping each piece of equipment down before and after my use while muttering about pig people not showing the same courtesy. Eventually there was a gradual movement by the gentlemen to accommodate my delicate sensibilities. Don't care how they get there, just so they do. You're welcome Ladies.
