DOG IS GOD SPELLED BACKWARDS (September 1/177)

SOUTHERN CRACK Guess what? I don't care that Cracker Barrel changed their logo. Only know about it because the snowflake magats are complaining.  Wow and they think we're sensitive. Who gives a flying f.....? Do people really choose their restaurant based on the logo rather than the food and service? Actually, I don't care for their food as I am not addicted to their fried with gravy M.O. However, the store you can shop while you're waiting is fun.

Oops now they've changed it back-really?  My theory is that there are about 5-10% (both sides) who complain about everything, but they do it publicly as most of us don't give a fig on the little stuff. However, corporate American caves to that lousy 5-10%

WHAT IS OLD? I was moved to explore the advantages of getting older after hearing from the grandson that it does not sound like a lot of fun. One just has to look for the perks.  A few thoughts:

Senior discounts and AARP like cheap coffee at McD's, discount days at stores & restaurants meaning you can eat dinner at 5:00 pm no questions asked.

Selective memory-you remember more positive memories than bad.

You don't have to call in sick, you just take the day/days - no excuses needed & being grumpy counts.

You become invisible meaning you can snatch the last exquisite hors d'oeuvre from the snack tray as no one even knows you're there; also works in groups or meetings-your remarks are not only surprising but usually on point which, much to your amusement, effectively upends the consensus painfully achieved.  (I have an upcoming 2-day meeting to disrupt)

Patience coupled with experience - we know what goes around comes around.  Since marmie has said he wants to go to heaven in one of his several senior moments- see first statement.

More time to socialize, play cards, fish, take a long lunch, etc., even in the middle of a Tuesday.

You no longer care to maintain any type of image and feel free to express unpopular opinions.

You can become president and just call it in and play golf. Or become vice pres & take constant vacays.

A major perk verbalized at a party of our peers Sunday was that no one asks you to move furniture when you're over 70. Even when you own a truck. Which poses a problem for us having to move furniture at two locations. But imagine our consternation in the chicken coops when we found it costs 800 to 1000 to move 2 pieces of furniture 52 miles away. Ouch. Also, my ace in the hole, so to speak, Habitat for Humanity, will pick up furniture, but only if one moves it to the front of the house. If we could do that, we could bring it to them ourselves. Second Ouch.  Everybody wants to have new stuff, but no one knows what to do with the old stuff. Surely the haves and have nots can meet at some happy middle? Furniture and mattress stores that take the old stuff would have buyers lined up at the door. And obviously I should have invested in the moving and storage business based on pricing.

ROLLING ALONG The boy makes his debut in a bowling league Saturday. Last time I saw him I asked if he wanted us to stay home as four people (Mom & Dad & us) watching might be overwhelming. No, he said he wants us there as well as other Grandma and Great Uncle and Aunt. Talk about pressure. He loves to perform, but he's got more guts than I had at his age where I would rather screw up in private and lie about it later.

Possibly getting a new Granddog this week. M&K found a sad, little Corgi at a restaurant Friday. He was tired and dirty. After spending the weekend posting everywhere looking for his mom and dad, they are starting to think perhaps he is a gift from my former Granddog St. Zoe who from the rainbow bridge saw they needed a new friend. They temporarily dubbed him Dusty (due to his unwashed condition) until they determine if he truly is an orphan. I asked if JP had fallen in love. As expected, his Mother said "Instantly".  Fingers crossed. Peace out/stay strong....πŸ’š   πŸ’™πŸ’›

BE LIKE JESUS (August 25/178)

COMMON SEWERS OF WINE As the OH was cooking up spaghetti for dinner last week, he asked, "now what wine goes with pasta, red or white?"  My response "it goes with whatever is open". Always go with a known winner I say.

Isn't the wall pretty? At least on one side. Let's spend a billion dollars to paint our side black so the illegals burn their little pads climbing up (actually that would be down) a sheer shiny piece of steel. They ain't crossing there and couldn't they just wait until night to rappel over? We are being run by a bunch of demented kindergarteners.  Meanwhile the magas got all excited that little marmie was going to go on patrol in DC (like a real leader). Yep, an old out-of-shape dude was going to strap on an AK and a helmet and actually "walk around". Nope despite the hype, he garbled aimlessly to a group of soldiers about making DC parks into golf courses and his extensive knowledge of grass "I know grass" then booked leaving a pile of pizza boxes and hamburgers in his wake for his "dear kristi" (his words) to pass out. Isn't that special. Nothing screams leadership and credibility than pizza parties.

FURNITURE SHOPPING I have been wrestling with buying new couches for the living room for a while. Ever since our "expensive" leather loungers have been splitting along the seams which looks tacky as hell. Of course, checking with the original store got me a goose egg so I'm all for going back there for replacements - not. Setting out with every intention of perusing all the competition I had to overcome my visceral distaste for most stores and their adrenalin driven salespeople. The standard trope to back off the howling wolf commission-based hoard that attacks upon your entry, I grab the first person's business card and sternly tell them I'll call you when I see something I have a question about.

One Furniture store has a system of perching someone on a desk at the door and they round robin customers as they enter. Seems fair. However, one look at our attire and our "robin" waved us in a general direction and found something more fascinating on his cell. That just screams "we want your business". We made our circuit, never being bothered or asking for assistance and exited. One down. I was talking to a former bank person in a small town about judging people and she pointed out that in their area a lot of the customers were farmers who aren't wearing suit and tie to deposit their cash. Think millionaire farmers in overalls.

That guy's name furniture store has helpful, but not overly in your face intensity folks. However, inexpensive furniture is, how do I say it, cheap. No dovetailed drawers and over-built platforms, no steel-framed construction. Too bad.

A third furniture extravaganza's name just sounds cheap compared to an Eathan Allen name, but they do seem to be of somewhat better quality than say, the purveyor of my seam failed current furniture. Their salespeople run to you like they're still on the sinking Titanic and you're the last wooden door they see floating. We got our eager-beaver business card per my routine, picked out the item we were interested in, a nightstand, and then were told to wait for him and only him for the next 30 fricking minutes while he was leisurely checking out another couple with many issues. Apparently, they have cut back on sales folks as no one swooped in to steal his sale. Again, people should not assume this is the only time you will see a customer because they don't buy an entire bedroom suite on their first visit. Because I obviously did not go back there to buy my couch and loveseat for Mucho Dinero flakeface. Reap what you sow they say.

As I am the Queen of the comment card, letter, email, I of course, wrote a couple of the stores to express my constructive criticism hinting that I would soon be in the market for much more. Nada responses to my tactful missives. Monopolies have their downside....for the customer!

So, with nothing better to do we laid out a plan to visit whatever stores still carry furniture to start the replacement search. Now this is a bigger project than one might imagine. We now need to coordinate removal of Lake House furniture to, hopefully Habitat for Humanity; hire a mover to take the current living room to the lake house-each piece weighs about 1,000 pounds so we ain't doing it; before we can put in the new stuff. The only urgency is to accomplish this twisted ballet while the weather is still decent. We'll be sitting on whatever's left based on who shows up first or living in the kitchen which isn't all bad.

Starting from the furthest spot away (10 miles) we visited the "Big Furniture Store in a Little Town" I think their advertising says. It is odd to find this three-building long furniture store in a town that barely has any downtown and less people. Next to the railroad tracks...and the lumber company. Our lady, Robin oddly enough, rose from her rosewood desk in front and charmed the proverbial pants off of us. When I mentioned I was looking for red-gray-black she immediately steered us to the cutest little recliner I have ever seen and now lust after, sigh.  She got them to mark it down (as she knew I would ask, I have that look). It is an eclectic combo and expensive and will not appeal to those who do not have an artistic bent as the woman who will wear orange and cheetah prints-she had my number. Ah well. I have a feeling it may be there for a while and may be marked down again. Also, I have no place to put it with my father's gigantic wing chair, so it would be pure insanity to give in to basically an impulse buy.

At any rate, we kept finding "favorites" until we discovered we like reclining couches. So a whole other style ascetic emerged. Long story short, I signed on the dotted line, much to the OH's surprise as we were going to visit multiple outlets before deciding. If it ain't broke and it works, etc etc. So now the furniture exchange dance begins.

HAS TO BE SAID Where altruistic people they say rise to the occasion marmie's sycophants seemed to have "lowered" themselves to any occasion where compassion, empathy, intelligence or doing the right thing is an option and choose to go the other way. Exhibited by Congressman Jasmine Crockett when she totally annihilated old man Huckabee in an open debate quoting one bible verse after another that supported those who follow Jesus feed the poor, care for the sick, and embrace the stranger. Upon his feeble retort on picking and choosing she also reiterated that the bible (Trump's version or others) never mentions same sex marriage or homosexuality but continues to support the poor, not tax breaks for business or asking people if they have a job before offering charity. Good times.  Peace out/be strong....πŸ’š  πŸ’›πŸ’™

SORRY, IT'S ALL ABOUT THEM (August 18/179)

I've come to a decision. After all the episodes of ripping up the constitution from bribery to destroying the economy to alienating every ally to weaponizing government, I will only refer to marmie as "that guy who lives in the White House". He has certainly abdicated his oath of office as President and should no longer carry that title. Secondly, dems need to grow a pair (or several) after witnessing again how "that guy wlitwh" folds like a paper towel holding dog poop after meeting with put put in Alaska. "I'm going to insist, bla bla bla"-no deal, or excuse me, whatever put put wants. Good thing he was wearing dark pants as I am sure at age 79, he was having problems holding it in after meeting with his hero.

Along with accepting pudding put's take on Ukraine war, he also talked that wlitwh into coming out against mail-in ballots and, humorously, voting machines by saying no country but US uses mail-in ballots. Guess put in pudding in pie forgot to mention Russia uses them. Enough said.

And no Kristi, we're not obsessed with your looks. It's just mind-boggling that you travel with a hair and makeup person so you can look glamorous in front of a prison full of mis-treated and tortured souls deported (illegally) from the US among other photo ops. That is disgusting.

And it is rather ironic that marmie calls up the national guard for a "non-existent" crime issue (because doge kid "big balls" got beat up by 2 15-year-old boys and 1 girl) but sat and watched in "apparent" glee and called no one when the capital itself was under vicious attack. The biggest crime spree is the white house. Yep, he cares about this country. Oddly enough he's focusing the soldiers by monuments rather than identified crime areas?

And finally, hiding Obama's and the Bush's presidential pictures-wow. "Small men shrink from history's giants (Newsome)" LOL. What's he going to do next exhume Kennedy and put out the perpetual flame? His pettiness and insecurity know no bounds. Or as the Chicago mayor puts it after being insulted several times by yours' truly "he really is afraid of intelligent black men".

On the humorous side, truth social (marmie's mouthpiece) filled up AI with conservative ideas and then asked it questions. To which, like Sleeping Beauty's stepmom and her infamous mirror, it claimed "I cannot lie". When asked, it stated "marmie did not win the 2020 election"; "tariffs are a tax on Americans"; "January 6 was an insurrection" though it often cites Fox as its source - OMG! Which also addresses the complaint of why news media seem so left-biased... because they are reporting the story as it happened, duh πŸ˜‚

No major dramas on the home front last week. The boy turned down a quick overnight to the lake. As predicted, the fish aint' big enough to give up his social calendar at our little lake. We have created a fishing monster. I am up to refilling the finch and hummer feeders more than once a week. 'tis the season, I guess. Hysterical to see the little boy hummer constantly driving off the larger female hummer, as if there was not enough for two or ten long beaks. Sunday's are getting busier so often moving my "pearls of wisdom" to Monday. If I don't post on Monday, I'm probably dead so there's that.

Dictators fail as they surround themselves with incompetent fools who never tell you the truth. Eventually it all crashes down-just not before damage is done.  At any rate, when all the leaders of Europe have to sit in on a meeting with marmie and Zelensky it screams "we don't trust you in big neon letters." Sigh.  Peace out/Stay Strong....πŸ’š  πŸ’™πŸ’›

BLOWING IN THE WIND (August 11/180)

WISHY WASHY Is there such a thing as a dishwasher culture? I must have been behind the road sign when the frenzy began. A dishwasher in my youth was my siblings' and myself. I still struggle with finding enough reasons to use my fancy BOSCH which I only have to fill the hole in the under-sink cabinets so its necessary. I am sorely lacking in the Tetra skills needed to place and stack. My stuff crashes down on the slightest touch so what are all those little dish holder thingees for if not to grasp bowls to their little metal hearts?

As I always have way too much plastic, wood, sharp knives and pans I wouldn't put in the dishwasher,  handwashing is still a part of the scenario with my bottom rack kind of running free making me rethink the whole hassle of running the dishwasher in the first place. And what's with the "drip a few drops" of goop into the rinse pocket (which immediately runs down the door of the washer) and the so-called drying cycle. The dishes still have to be wiped dry even if they sit all night. Again, I don't get it but love when folks on HGTV (usually Americans) lament the lack of a dishwasher in their European apartment even if there is only one person!

AHOY MATEY Well, who found out she doesn't get seasick anymore. Well at least after my friendly little white pill -no not cocaine, Dramamine. We finally got the grandson out on the Great Lakes fishing. It was iffy all week with the wind expectations, but what the hell, what's 3-foot swells among friends. Though the Captain was adamant about wind direction if anyone was feeling "pukey". My calm stomach was severely tested when I chose to climb up to the flying bridge-oh baby does that rock and roll. The first mate said the boat's (Nauti Dog) keel was as deep as a sailboat so tipping over was not in the cards-like I had even thought about that until she mentioned itπŸ˜• (I said it was windy). I just assumed seeing the water inches away from my position was normal. Then for the "nervous nellies" they had "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" on their playlist-JP was not amused.

More fun. As these folks compete in fishing tournaments, the boats have BIG engines. As time is of the essence, they hammer going out and coming in. Anyone standing would have been on their butt immediately. I cannot believe beer is involved in these expeditions as not being thrown in the drink was a definite possibility with the constant waves banging against us. Up to 4-5 feet by then. We staggered around like we were 3 sheets to the wind. I pity the fool who went out on Lake Michigan that day without at least a 26-30 foot boat. Well guess they found out once they got past the break wall. With all that rocking and rolling I never fell.... until climbing out and tripping on the dock-Sigh.

The grandson, on the other hand, did not stomach things quite as well. He was pretty much rolled up in a ball except when a fish struck. Then it was all about the fishing where he landed three decent sized salmon during the adventure. As he put it, "my family goes into a panic when they yell fish on" as we were trying to get the pole to him. He battled each for five or ten minutes, so we were pretty proud he stuck with it getting all three.

RANDOM RIGHTIES As they anxiously pluck their pearls about the missing tax-ass dems, did we forget the repugs ran away rather than vote on releasing the Epstein files? Or the Oregon-i repugs who walked out multiple times on agendas they didn't like? Our priorities are screwed up for sure.

Recently saw a sign that said being left is a sign of mental illness/ quit watching so much TV. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but most liberals do not spend that much time watching basic television-they are more intelligent, read and no doubt streaming multiple sources. Only magots inhale fax newsie 24/7 as the background for their lives. I for one have never watched CNN or CNBC actually, though I do enjoy watching Anderson Cooper on New's Years Eve as he gets hammered with Andy Cohen. I watch local and research multiple sources.  Oh yeah research, that woke intellectual-type stuff. May have to add CBS to that list at some point.

Pirate walks into a bar with a paper towel on his head. Bartender says, "what's with the paper towel?" "Rrrr" pirate says "I's got a bounty on me head."  Ta ta boom! Peace out/Stay strong...πŸ’š  πŸ’™πŸ’›

WET, WILD & SOFT SERVE (August 4/181)

CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN  "Mayday Mayday" life jackets hastily donned, bilge pump engaged and buckets at the ready. Water sloshing over the back as the boat slowly sinks into the mucky bottom of the lake.

Well, it could have dramatically read that way if they hadn't brought her up on plane racing across the lake on the journey back to our dock from the launch site. Instead, it was our neighbor banging on the patio door saying, "your boat looks kind of low in the water". No shitske from the crown prince of understatement. Mayday mayday before we have nothing left but the ropes holding her to the dock. Thank goodness for the bilge pump as our bucket brigade was not keeping the lake at bay. Then miraculous discovery. The dang, stupid, naughty little plug was out. So, the OH had to wade through the mud blood, etc. up to his chest to reinsert the wayward plug. Mr. Bilge did the rest.

Disaster averted and fishing postponed for the day. Then of course, it rained all the next day so the two fisherpeople were a bit peeved at their reduced time on the lake. Not to mention having to dry out all their equipment, of which there is a lot, really, really a lot.. Funny  how all the sinking boat pics show one end going down before the other-very artistic. Nope, this one was going straight down all at once lacking poetic grace. Would have needed a crane to lift her out. Have to say it's a first after 40-50 years of owning boats.

Funny phone conversation. I checked with ACE Hardware to determine if they had a pump if we needed one explaining about the boat mishap. One of the questions was "are you in the middle of the lake?" I just can't imagine what he was envisioning, obviously not an emergency where they would whip out there in their ACE boat and start pumping? Goes right in my book titled "Silly Questions, Volume 23".

RANDOM OUTRAGES The plane is free! The billion for upgrading and renovation will come out of a bloated, unnecessary military budget item set aside to update our ancient BOMB SILOS! As our own jolly old St Prick moves a couple nuclear subs closer to pudding's territory. Priorities and all that.

The EPA has decided no connection between pollution and health, so they are going to deregulate all those bothersome rules about coal plants and other greenhouse gas producers. I suppose we can look forward to lead-based gasoline next. Be fun to see cities wreathed in gray sooty clouds like they used to be in the 50's. Ahh the good old days. Also, like the McCarthy nuts, fire anyone who does not meet your version of the "truth" (BLS labor numbers)

After a 10 million dollar tax-payer trip to promote his Scotland golf courses (ostensibly working on trade deals) the darn media will not stop asking about the Epstein debacle. And these were Scottish news media. You can just see the silly-assed look "how do they know about that?" In usual fashion the peda-in-chief puts a golf shoe in his mouthpiece to talk about E's "stealing" of his under-age spa employees and not having the "honor" of visiting the island. But he also took time out to insult the Dutch head of the European Union to state how ugly and inefficient windmills are. As windmills literally keep the sea out of their backyards, I have to give her credit for no eyerolls or a deserved backhand across that narcissistic smug face. Are we all sufficiently distracted yet?

RITES OF SUMMER As we languish in the dog days of August, where are the ice cream trucks of yesteryear? Was it that long ago when Mr. Softee and the Good Humor person plied our streets and our senses with their chocolaty frozen treats? Tri-colored popsicle bombs, sloppy soft serve with a twist melting down our shirts covering our hands with lickable goodness! Another passage of summer abandoned. Job didn't pay much, but the fringe benefits were both fattening and satisfying. That infuriating jingle of a long-forgotten song driving children insane and parents irritated as they scramble for quarters under the seat cushions. Now I'm hungry. Maybe we should advocate for a driveway cocktail truck for the after 6 pm crowd. That would sell.  Peace out.....πŸ’š  πŸ’™πŸ’›

COLOR ME.... (July 28/182)

ITS A GREEN GREEN WORLD I have declared war on weeds. Well mostly I am past the point of pulling the evil green monsters who thrive on apparently no water at all. Why aren't they prettier then? If I'm forced to cultivate them, they should at least do their part by acquiring some fancier clothes and getting rid of the spikey things that make pulling them out such a nasty task. As I pull, they stubbornly cling to their underground plumbing (you can actually hear them grunting) leaving their root system entirely intact as I hopelessly cling to the superfluous top (the spikey part).

My lawn care people like lawns but not so much landscaping. My landscaper did the bare minimum and left me holding the bag with a couple of iffy bushes and way too little mulch. Looked good for about an hour and a half.  Tried to recruit the grandson, but that was a no go. I just can't bend and stretch and reach for the stars like I use to.

A gardener for the weed debacle and agriculturist for the decorative part? What a racket. Reviews mean nothing. Always surprising that these folks don't hustle after the middle-class folks. We are usually easier to please and pay as required. Instead, they haplessly pursue the rich thinking bigger payouts. Except, they are much pickier and are genius at finding ways to stiff you on parts or all of the bill. Maybe I should interview prospective employees in a ball gown and tiara. My ability to pay as contracted will be a nice surprise. No one ever comes to your door touting landscaping like the construction and window people. "I'm working down the street, and I noticed your landscaping looks like it was attacked by both a volcanic eruption and a plethora of beavers. That spiel I would listen to.

ORANGE LAND Gotta love marmie touting the Japanese tariff deal. We buy a hell of a lot more from them than they buy from us so yay for Japan. The little bitty problem though is that makes Japanese made cars 10% less than those made in Canada and Mexico due to their sweetheart deal. Yep, that'll get GM to build more factories in the US. Oops, they already lost 1.1 billion last quarter due to those silly little add-ons.

And yes Virginia, I totally believe a convicted felon facing a long sentence will absolutely tell the truth with a possible pardon on the table if I tell the "right" truth. Hopefully she faces a better fate than her partner in crime who was murd, committed sui, ok died in prison. Just odd that the only one serving time is one woman. Can't have a crime ring without the ring so to speak.

THE COLOR OF CHOCOLATE Does anyone but me have laundry cookies? Ok, one of my secret obsessions is GS cookies. I wait anxiously starting at the first of the year for the magic time when "Cookies Ahoy" is proclaimed. I will stake out likely retail spots to finally get my fix. As the young ladies are practicing their entrepreneur skills, the transactions are sometimes protracted and painful.  Yelling give me cookies and throwing 20-dollar bills at them just freaks them out. Anyway, all varieties freeze so I keep my hoard in the downstairs freezer. SOOO, while I'm waiting for my magic laundry pack to dissolve; they say just toss in the pack and then the clothes but I'm leery of mixing mediums until the packet totally disappears before throwing in the clothes. DIGRESS:  where does the plastic on the pack go? The same place as the mismatched socks no doubt, clogging my plumbing. So anyway, a frozen thin mint or two seems the perfect timing for the laundry pack to dissolve.  In many cases, the cookies never make it to the kitchen. They just slowly disappear. The OH never asks their fate. I bring up his favorite kind now and then to show I'm playing aboveboard.

BLACK IS BLACK Considering all the famous deaths this past week and much conjecture/dreaming by so many on whose obit they really would like to see next (talks of a 3-day party were tossed about) I feel compelled to riff off one of Mark Twain's quotes. "Live so people won't take great pleasure in seeing your obituary."  Prayers for TC and all fallen music icons, peace out.......πŸ’š   πŸ’™πŸ’›

A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (July 21/183)

IN THE NEWS Again, we are in soap opera territory which may be where little stevie m gets all his plot lines. He should go into movie scripting for the outlandish scenarios he creates which also emphasize cruelty as the main feature. Kind of like Victor Newman on the Young and Useless. The fact that S&M can't keep his cool in interviews is just demented which again reminds me of the 3rd Reich fanatics. After making a spectacle of himself with the Chelsea FIFA winners and taking their trophy,  marmie is threatening the Washington Commanders he won't agree to their new stadium if they don't change their name back to the Redskins. WTF? Aren't there more pressing matters to stick your stubby little fingers into? But one must show their hatred of all diversity and sensitivity in a very public way.

Every week another scandal or distraction as they frantically try to cover up their oopsie on the epstein debacle. They (whoever they are) talk about government waste as multiple sources and former employees reveal that over 1000 people from enforcement agencies are working through the "epstein files" to flag any mention of our glorious leader. But since you can't muzzle him, herr marmie calls his stalwart supporters stupid and weak. Guess he doesn't need them anymore since he's thrown in with the rich and powerful - surprise!

The dems are pussy cats against this mob. marmie is now openly ordering texicoland to redraw their districts to assure at least five more congressional seats turn red. Please blue boys, could you lob a few shots their way? I know it's hard to pick from all that low-hanging fruit. Since they keep calling you evil prove them right and scream, post, bribe news outlets with the truth. Kind of like when Adam Schiff looked right into the camera on the Late Show and said "Don - Piss off and show us the Epstein files". It was a glorious moment.

Here's a thought. Since CBS/Parmount shot themselves in the foot with the Colbert thing I think Stephen should run for Miss Lindsey's seat in SC. It is up for grabs.... intelligence and humor would be a welcome addition to the moribund Senate.

LIFE AT THE LAKE Anticipating a demand from our family party, the pontoon-a-lette made it to the lake last week. Our neighbor was so happy to help us launch; his first such foray since his heart surgery. I draw the line at dropping the boat with visions of crashing the dock or sinking the truck so thrilled our neighbor was up to the task. Then, of course, the weather kept threatening all day though actually it didn't rain, boom or hail until everybody left so we never took the cover off.

The boy had a few days of fishing and actually carried on through the rain. After catching two respectable blue gills he almost landed the bass of his dreams. Just as it got to the dock it snapped the line. Undeterred, JP spent the next FOUR hours casting for that rascal. Fish 1, JP -0. He vows the battle is not over.

With the S-I-L as DJ, we held family karaoke afternoon belting out such classics as Sweet Caroline, Living on a Prayer and for the truly old souls Flower Girl. Then it was a contest of who could think of the most obscure artist or song. I famously mixed-up Jim Croce and Joe Cocker. With a little help from our booze (get the reference? heh heh) not surprising. I chose to polish off some left-over wine, switched to beer and then tried a cider-based concoction that was truly gag worthy. Though to be fair, I never rinsed my glass in between.

We can never figure out why we are always so exhausted when we get back home from relaxing at the lake.

PODTIME Supposed to be recording this week with an update on lithium-ion batteries, but my interviewee has been promising the discussion points since the first of June. I either cancel the darn thing or fake it through an interview, but my expertise on this topic is not current or extensive. One question I thought of "with the de-emphasis and cancellation of renewable energy project how does that impact further development in the ion battery world?" I am mildly panicking. At least I have another program in the books for August, so we have time.  At any rate I have to put some kind of script together in case we can pull this off. Peace out or my new mantra "piss off Don"........πŸ’š   πŸ’™πŸ’›
